Controlling intelligent building technology easily – at home and on the move

On the way to work, on holiday or in the garden: The Gira HomeServer/FacilityServer App allows all of the building technology to be conveniently operated while on the move using an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, or any Android-based mobile devices. The free app for controlling the Gira HomeServer and the KNX installation in the building features the uniform Gira Interface design. Because of this, users can quickly find their way round the user menu and enjoy the advantages of intuitive menu navigation even while on the move. There is easy access to all control functions regardless of where you are, and a constant overview of all the building technology is available. The display is either horizontal or vertical and can be modified simply by rotating the device. Various profiles can be set up in user administration, e.g. for use at home and while on the move. Operate the entire building technology conveniently and easily, whether on the move or on the sofa: with update 4.5.0, the HomeServer/FacilityServer App now offers you even more possibilities. In addition to improvements and bug fixes, the app has been expanded to include a Color Picker to allow you to easily set the RGB lights to the colour of your choice, using a colour wheel and saturation controller. Other parameters can be changed as desired using an RGB controller. Up to 16 customised colours can be saved and called up directly. The brightness can be modified using a slider.

Uniform user interface on all end devices

With the Gira Interface, the user interface of the Gira HomeServer/FacilityServer, all devices that can be used for building control via the Gira HomeServer/FacilityServer feature a uniformly structured interface design. Irrespective of whether they are using the Gira G1, a PC, tablet or smartphone or other third-party device, users can enjoy the user friendliness of the multi-award-winning Gira Interface anywhere. There is no need to adapt to a new menu navigation again and again and, what’s more, the user interface has been adapted to the individual screen sizes of the separate end devices for optimum operating convenience. This allows complex scenarios to be controlled easily, even while away.

Main menu with overview of all building functions

The main menu displays all building functions at a glance. The date, time, current temperature and active functions are shown in the status bar. The bottom navigation bar enables you to return to the main menu at any time.

Display of all the rooms in the room list

All of a building’s rooms are arranged by floor and displayed in the room list. Touching a list item opens an overview of all the applications installed in the room.

All the devices in a room and their statuses can be seen at a glance. Lights can be switched on or off, for example, or blinds raised and lowered at the touch of a finger.

Timer for room functions

If the device is rotated by 90°, the landscape mode automatically opens an expanded view of the timer functions. The timer makes a range of filter functions available that allow functions to be adapted to personal requirements. Random values are also possible.

Single-room temperature control in a pop-up menu

For more complex functions such as heating control, a pop-up menu opens up via the room view, and settings can be entered there.

Graphs for the recording and analysis of consumption

The recording and analysis of consumption data functions with the aid of graphs. Various values can be displayed according to year, month, day and hour. If the device is rotated by 90°, the graph that was last active is shown in landscape mode and can be used to show temperature differences, for example, via multi-touch.

Messages, measurements and statuses in the message list

The message lists display alarm messages, measurement values and statuses of devices and contacts integrated in the system.

Display of current weather data

The data from a weather station can be read while away, including the wind speed, precipitation, and temperatures. In addition, the water level of cisterns or the energy generation of photovoltaic systems can be viewed. For example, if there is a storm in the forecast, users can take precautions from the office and lower the blinds or close the windows to prevent building damage.

Calling up camera images while on the move

See who is in the garden or at the gate in one operational step: no problem with the HomeServer app. Views from the cameras on the grounds can even be called up while away via the app.
