Gira Experience Center

Anyone travelling on the A12 between Arnheim and Utrecht will see the Gira logo at Veenendaal. The Dutch branch of the home automation specialists from the Bergisches Land has been established for several months here in the north of this town of 65,000 inhabitants, today known as the Silicon Valley of the Netherlands. At 600m², the modern three-story building houses offices, meeting rooms, a technical hotline for customers and state-of-the-art training facilities. However, the focal point of the site is the first Gira Experience Center, which covers the entire ground floor. Since the beginning of September, the Center has been open to installers, wholesalers and architects. Hans Flier and Jacob de Muijnck, the managers of Gira Nederland BV, are agreed:
“Our Experience Center is much more than just a standard showroom”. In a model house with a living room, kitchen, bathroom and bedroom, Gira demonstrates the possibilities for using innovative technologies in building control.

The focus is on solutions for interconnected networks and secure living conditions. “We want to let you experience what it means to live in a smart house” explains Hans Flier. Along with actual product presentation, applications ranging from radiographic building management systems in Smart Homes to comprehensive solutions based on KNX technologies in an intelligent villa are demonstrated in a separate room. Here, visitors can use a large LED screen to virtually try out and experience how different building technology functions operate with Gira systems in practice, and how programmed scenarios can be activated.

Customer advice platform

This live experience of various Smart Home applications should provide a source of inspiration for designing smart living. Therefore, wholesalers, electricians and architects are also invited to visit the Gira Experience Center with their customers or to use it for their own customer events. “We see it as part of the Gira service for our specialised customers: making this unique platform available to them so that they can inspire end consumers with smart home solutions and make an impact in sales talks with additional advisory skills”, stresses Jacob de Muijnck. “We are therefore looking forward to having lots of visitors!”
