The module is used to control redundant operation of two HomeServers (HS) or FacilityServers (FS).

Function: In connection with a Gira KNX switching actuator, the active HomeServer switches itself off at a certain point in time every day if the automatic system is enabled. This changeover time can be parameterised.

At the same time, the inactive HomeServer is switched on. Manual changeover can also occur on a separate input.

Through cyclical monitoring using a staircase function in the KNX switching actuator, left-out KNX telegrams or a defective HS can be detected and the redundant HS started automatically.

Requirements:

• Redundant operation requires two of the same devices (HS-HS or FS-FS) on which the same firmware is installed.
• Installed and functioning NTP server.
• Switching actuator with two available outputs and staircase function which can be activated for each output (e.g. KNX switching actuator, 2-gang, 16 A with manual operation, Gira Order No. 1040 00).
• KNX installation with system devices (power supply etc.).
• Only one device works at a time. The second device is switched off.
• Changes to the existing project are always programmed in the running device first and then in the redundant device.
• "Old" retentive files must be deleted from the FTP server manually. These files are created during each change to the project and are not deleted automatically.
• In the project settings of the Expert software, the two points "Read FTP" and "Write FTP" under "Network\Retentive memory" are always to be parameterised.
• The date and time of the programming PC must be up-to-date.
• The two devices must be exchanged regularly. The time of these two devices must be identical. Deviations can result in data loss in the archives/occupied-home simulation.
