The signalling system allows the existing sensors of a KNX installation to be connected to the Gira HomeServer to monitor a building or building part. The signalling system in the HomeServer can display the state of window contacts, motion detectors, or glass-breakage sensors and monitor state changes to these alarm devices. Up to 40 alarm devices can be monitored in this way.
The alarm devices integrated in the signalling system can be compiled in up to two safety areas (activated internally and externally). By activating these areas, it is possible to monitor the secured system for burglary whether people are present in the building or not. In addition, parts of the system can generally be monitored for sabotage. If the burglary alarm sounds, optical and acoustic signal transmitters can be activated via a communication object.
The signalling system can be monitored and operated by a visualisation or a plug-in. Both the call-up of system states (active alarm devices, events) and the operation (activation/deactivation, acknowledgement) can be performed easily and clearly with the visualisation or plug-in and a message archive. In addition, activation/deactivation via other bus participants is also possible – e.g. using push button sensors or push button interfaces and binary inputs with operating devices connected to them. In case of alarm or error, system states or alarm device texts can also be shown on other KNX display units, such as on Info Displays or simple LED displays.
The global library contains all logic modules and archives required to set up a signalling system. A web-based training showing the start-up is also included.
